There are some outfits you love so much that you can’t help but wear them over and over again. Plus, blame it on global warming, but September has been a really weird time in Massachusetts thus far: One day it’s 97 degrees, the next day there’s a high of 59. This is why it’s great that stores like American Apparel make all their best merchandise in every color and print imaginable: it makes it easy to wear your favorite looks from one season in slightly different ways, and to wear some of those same pieces throughout the rest of the year, without seeming like a “repeat offender.” Here are a few different ensembles that combine several of the same items, worn in various ways to keep things interesting and weather-appropriate.
Here I am, standing awkwardly in my American Apparel Stretch Twill High-Waist Side Zipper Shorts in “dark mint,” with an American Apparel Tie-Up Blouse, pastel pink Jeffrey Campbell oxfords and See Eyewear sunglasses.

Alexander Wang glow in the dark Pelican crossbody bag (Yes…this bag glows in the dark. It locks, too.)
Poolside chillin’ in Sunapee, New Hampshire, wearing the same shorts with the same blouse in a different print, brown oxfords this time, and mint shades from LF stores. (Throwback to my ombre hair…)
Any girl who braves cold weather knows that a few good pairs of tights will allow you to wear all your favorite shorts throughout fall and winter. These are the same American Apparel shorts, but in black, worn with Urban Outfitters tights, a cropped LNA sweater with brown leather trim, the REISS London felt “Ava” hat in burgundy, my vintage Chanel bag, Marc Jacobs combat boots, and Lennon-esque sunglasses, also from Urban Outfitters.
NARS Velvet Matte Lip Pencil in “Never Say Never.”

Essie “Where’s my Chauffeur” nail polish and a Cartier gold ring.
Once again in Sunapee, New Hampshire, wearing the same black shorts with American Apparel’s Spandex Crop Top in their new Lips Print.
