That flicker in time between the late 80s and early 90s was a sweet spot in fashion. I don’t usually combine so many loud pieces in one look, but sometimes you just have to let more be more. I think what makes this outfit work are the components’ striking similarities, and subtle differences. They echo each other. Matching-clashing shades of pink is a good way to achieve that ‘Girls Just ‘Wanna Have Fun’ feel—not to mention embellished denim, neon shades, vibrant lips, and a hit of glitter.

Recently I’ve been really inspired by the Spice Girls-meets-grunge pieces by brands like UNIF and Lazy Oaf, and the way that my favorite online boutiques, Nasty Gal and Dolls Kill, have been styling them. Bright lips, neon shades, glittery nails, and lots of pizza are the perfect accessories for this look.

The saucy place to go on Sundays…

This dress definitely reminds me of the swinging ’60s, but the matching shades and jelly sandals give the whole look a Romy & Michelle’s High School Reunion vibe.IMG_0186
