IMG_0091 - Version 2Becky is a recent Northeastern graduate and crop top enthusiast currently pursuing a career in child psychology here in Boston, and bringing some serious street style game to our city, as well. It’s great to have a friend who shares my affinity for 90s fashion/general old school pop culture—she even bought me my new tattoo choker, just like the ones my big sister and her cool friends wore while I was busy being too young to actually experience the fashions of that epic era…Anyway, I love how Becky took a simple, go-to grunge look, and made it completely new with her Steve Madden gladiators, which received about a hundred compliments per block on Newbury Street. A sophisticated bag or a statement shoe can make band tees and baggy shorts anything but basic. I’ll never give up this old Zeppelin tee. The open back is clutch on hot summer days, and The Song Remains the Same is definitely one of the best concert films of all time.

Recently I’ve been really inspired by the Spice Girls-meets-grunge pieces by brands like UNIF and Lazy Oaf, and the way that my favorite online boutiques, Nasty Gal and Dolls Kill, have been styling them. Bright lips, neon shades, glittery nails, and lots of pizza are the perfect accessories for this look.
