I love this summer’s Western-chic trend, but it can be easy to go a little costume-y with it since there are so many different fun Western-inspired pieces to choose from. Bandanas, bolo ties, structured wool hats, ornate belt buckles, cowboy boots, embroidered denim, fringed suede…you can’t do it all at once! Sandro Paris nailed the Western trend for a large part of their Spring 2016 collection, which features a lot of this gorgeous clay color they’re calling “brique” (“brick,” in case you couldn’t figure that out). Now, I’ve avoided two potential costumes with one killer outfit here, because pinstriped jeans can easily give off Beetlejuice vibes if you take them in a more punk-grudge direction. By pairing my brique tank with the striped jeans and adding just two staple Western accessories (my bandana and my Mom’s old belt from a trip to New Mexico), I achieve the Western trend without being annoyingly “trendy.” My other accessories, sleek and futuristic, also help strike a balanced look. Bandana styling tip: since jewelry is all about layering these days, consider tying your bandana into a choker and adding one or two delicate necklaces for an even cooler look.
These striped Sandro jeans are no longer available, but here’s an alternative by Rag & Bone (on sale!) that’ll totally do the trick.
