I know that a suede, fringe jacket may seem like a loud, intimidating item that should be limited to its stereotypical styling: faded blue jeans, a breezy white tank, and perhaps a crown of flowers. I’m here to give you permission to get weird with it, by way of getting perhaps a little less weird in terms of the scene your outfit sets. [Ignore the fact that I’m blatantly posing in a suburban area and] try throwing on your fringe jacket with sleek, city staples, like a striped blouse, cigarette pants, and dressier boots, as opposed to Woodstock-inspired boho pieces. Tying the blouse up and adding a sharp wool fedora will create a bridge between the fringe jacket’s flower child-roots and its new uptown-girl flair. May the fringe be with you!
